Hi everybody, I'm here with another Xbox LIVE thing. My complimentary card ran out, so I bought a full year. I love playing Halo 3 now, and it is the only game I play/can play on Xbox LIVE. Again, feel free to friend me. Well, I'm done, here are some pretty pictures.

Halo 3 Limited Edition

Hey everybody, I'd like to tell y'all about Halo 3 Limited Edition. In case you don't know what it is, it is Halo 3 with an extra disc, a book explaining about the covenant, and a user manual with a different cover (I think). The story of how I got this Halo 3: Limited Edition. I went to Gamestop in the St.Louis Galleria and bought the regular version of Halo 3 for about $20. It didn't work, so that evening I went back and exchanged it, but the guy at the counter gave me a limited edition of Halo 3, saying that it had some bonuses. It turned out to work fully, and it had many more features. I gladly took it and I guess that was all the store had, that they were sure worked perfectly. Needless to say, thanks random guy at the desk. Today, I felt like I should write this because I beat the campaign on normal, right before I went to church. I have watched many YouTube videos about it, and it didn't seem very hard to do as they said. If you look at my gamertag and service record, you will see that I just got EVA armor. I am also waiting for getting the Hayabusa Armor since I know how to get all the skulls. IWHBYD still didn't work for me today however. Nevertheless, I will triumph someday! I think I am more likely to get Recon Armor before Hayabusa or any of the other armors.

Playing Halo for Haiti

Hi everyone, I'm sure you saw what was going on from Wednesday (1/20/2010) to Thursday (1/21/2010). Bungie was being their usually nice self, and said that they would like to help Haiti, which I am sure you heard is in big trouble. After the big earthquake hit (somewhere in the 6-8 range), Bungie said that if you play Halo 3 multiplayer (ODST counts too), you can earn money for Haiti. All you had to do was change the emblem on your armor to have a red heart with a white circle background and play! For every 1,000 players, Bungie donated $100.00 to Haiti. Bungie earned over $100,000! Their maximum was set to be $77,000, but they said "we didn’t quite reach the lofty goal we set for ourselves." I think they did very well personally. If you participated, congrats. It was a great excuse to play Halo! By the way, many just assumed that it was matchmaking that earned money, but anything over Xbox Live (excluding campaign) counted! If any of you would like to friend me on Xbox Live, my gamertag is SocksWoHoles. I probably won't accept you though.
Totally off topic here, but if you don't have one yet, you should get a Bungie.net account. When playing Halo 3, you also get a cool septagon by your name.

Hi, I've recently been looking at this game called Red Faction:Guerrilla. I don't know if it is any good or not, no one has really said. No videos today, sadly, because I'm using my church computer and it sucks!. Red Faction is like Just Cause 2, Mercenaries 2, GTA IV, and all other sorts of sandbox games. My mom keeps asking why I need another shooting game, or sandbox game, and they are all different. A note to all of you moms out there. Sadly, they are all getting the same. In my Just Cause 2 post, I noted that the plots between Mercenaries 2, and Just Cause 2 are identical! Today, I am shamed to tell you, Red Faction:Guerrilla's is too. All the plots are about people you worked for (in GTA IV are related to) betrayed you and now you want to kill them. Note that GTA IV is just that the brother lied and to what I know, isn't really important in the game anymore. Not like Niko is trying to kill his bro or anything. If I ever get Red Faction:Guerrilla, I'll be sure to let you know about the game play! Notice that I will say nothing about the same old stale plot that keeps being used.

Hello, I would like to tell you guys that my Xbox 360 broke down on Christmas Eve. I was playing Mercenaries 2, trying to beat the darn game (even with cheats!) and it broke. The Xbox froze a few times and it had a little checkered pattern on the screen. Then, of course, the 3 rings of death showed up and ruined my Xbox. I have sent it in and it shipped today. So, come back soon! Today, I also uploaded some very old videos on my youtube, Schmintendo, and they are Mercs 2 vids. Ironically, I got Need For Speed Pro Street from the library that day, so I couldn't play it.

1 vs. 100 Free

Hello everyone, I'm sure you have heard about the 1 vs. 100 thing on Xbox LIVE. Now, like everything else, the 1 vs. 100 thing is only avalible for Xbox LIVE Gold Members. Now, starting tomorrow and going until the 28th (advertising for the holidays), it is going to be free for silver members of Xbox LIVE. Since everyone is supposed to be getting Xbox 360s for Christmas according to Microsoft, people should be doing something for the family. I might do it, as you see that I have a silver account. Just mentioning, I don't have a PS3.

Just Cause 2

Hello everyone, I just found out about Just Cause, a video game made in 2006. It is a sandbox game, much like Mercenaries 2 that I reviewed (not very well, mind you). It has a sequel that is in development. It is actually basically Mercenaries 2 with a face lift, different vehicles, and a different friend gone bad. The question is which one copied the other. The good guy gone bad in Mercs is Solano, and the same in Just Cause seems to be Tom Sheldon. The difference is that in Just Cause 2, there is a bad guy (has been bad forever) also, Baby Panay. The way I found it was in Game Pro (a very good magazine by the way!). It was one of the screenshots at the beginning. Just Cause 2 is supposed to have a very new parachute+grappling hook aspect. Much like a hookshot (from Legend of Zelda) and a parachute together. Actually, watching the trailer, it looked a bit boring, and very repetitive. Well, now I'm done, bye.

It seems kind of redundant to have news about news, but we won't have any weekly updates from Bungie until after Winter Break. After the Halo:Reach trailer, Bungie was relatively silent. My friend, the son of an accomplished doctor, informed me that he played a very crude beta of Halo:Reach. LUCKY!!!! Anyway, get ready for the Halo:Reach Beta soon! Yes, I do use cheats, just to get the videos to you. Although, for some reason, I cannot get back the save file that I have without cheats. Anyone want to tell me how to get them back?

Verdict: Mercenaries 2:World in Flames is a horrible version of Grand Theft Auto. Basically, this is Grand Theft Auto with slightly under par graphics in a military setting. How Mercs 2 is different is that you have people to help you. Even though it is usually stupid AI, you can honk your horn and they will obey your every command. The AI however, cannot tell who you are if you are travelling in another faction's vehicle. Another thing is factions. The factions hate each other, and the VZ is bad for everyone. I give this game a 8 out of 10. Comparing it to GTA, 0.5 out of 10, but it is slightly different, so.........

Halo 3 ODST on Xbox 360

My first post will be about Bungie's Halo 3 ODST which I purchased about a month ago for my Xbox 360. First off, my parents did not want me to purchase the game since it was rated M and they did not think I should play an M game. So what I did was I borrowed the original Halo Combat Evolved game from my friend from my middle school and let my folks try that out on my old Xbox. That was rated M and is probably the most lame rated M game out there. I told my dad (who loves Star Wars Battlefront) that Halo was not any more violent than Battlefront was, and he tried it out to see what he thought. After playing it while I was doing my homework, he decided it was not all that violent, although he thought it was really boring since there were not enough villains to shoot (he got stuck in campaign mode and could not find out where to go). In any case, I was allowed to purchase Halo ODST and think it is a cool game.

I have decided to start my own blog with all my views, reviews and news of anything to do with video gaming that interests me. I will cover all the platforms where I regularly play, Xbox 360, Nintendo Wii, Nintendo DS, PC and original Xbox games too. We used to have a Sega Genesis too, but that has been put to rest. Since I find nothing more exciting than video games, I will let you all know what cool things I find out about all the current and upcoming games that interest me.
